Value for moneyMost undergraduate degrees take three years, making them shorter than similar programs in other countries and very cost-effective. Some postgraduate degrees only last for one year (as opposed to two in other countries), which means you can finish your degree quickly and start earning higher salaries sooner. Financial assistance is available from some UK institutions and it is possible to gain Scholarships.
Health ConsiderationsIf you are studying any full-time course in Scotland or a full-time course of at least six months in length in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you will be entitled to free medical treatment from the British National Health Service.
The support systemThe UK is a multicultural society, well adapted to helping the interests of ethnic and cultural minorities. There are sizeable populations of ethnic Chinese, Indian and other Asian as well as European and Middle-Eastern countries, so you will find friends easily. You may be allocated a personal tutor at your college or university, who will take an interest in your welfare and academic progress. There will also be counsellors and advisers to help with accommodation, health, finance and other personal matters.
